The documentary 'The Sea of Memories' The documentary 'The Sea of Memories'

On Thursday November 27th at 20:00 pm in the Auditorium of the Corporation, the Cabildo of Lanzarote, will host the Presentation of the documentary 'The Sea of Memories' and pay homage to the seaside town of Arrecife. During the ceremony the old patron Jose Martin Santana will honor 89 years as a symbol of the seaside town.

The documentary 'The Sea of Memories', highlights the Assets that contains the complex world of artisanal fisheries in Arrecife, through a series of interviews with people connected to this traditional economic model. The event will also be a tribute to the many people who contributed anonymously to form what can be called the "Cultura del Mar".

Among others, will feature the presence and intervention of the Head of the Department of Heritage and Fisheries Corporation, Juan Antonio de la Hoz. The event will be hosted by the diffusion technique called Heritage Service, Sandra Cabrera. Meanwhile, the film's director, Dr. Sebastian Hernandez, will offer an introductory talk of filming (27 minutes) in which he explains the objectives and content of this work.

One of the highlights of the event, which will also feature nature, will be the moment when the old boss Jose Martin Santana, 89 years old, takes the stage to receive recognition as a representative and symbol of knowledge, and hundreds of people who practiced a model of artisanal fisheries, formed over time as a capital asset.

Is scheduled to meet at this event to be held Thursday in the Auditorium of the first Corporation island of Lanzarote different fishing industry representatives, prominent members of this group and fishing families on the island are also given, among other social actors and institutional.
