Higher room rates did most of the work. The average price of a hotel room was €147.73 a night, more than 10% up on September 2025 and nearly 15% higher than in 2024. The hotels were 87.4% full, much the same as last year, and welcomed 169,073 guests.
Jobs rose too. The sector had 11,109 people on the payroll, 656 more than a year earlier and another record for a September.
Across all types of tourist accommodation, including apartments, 195 complexes were open on the island and between them earned around €90.9 million, again the best September on record. Income for the first nine months of the year has reached around €810 million, and the island is on course to pass €1 billion for the first time by the end of 2026.
The strong figures come in the same month that international arrivals dipped by around 1%, with slightly fewer British and Irish visitors. Fewer people are paying more, and with the winter season about to begin, hotels in Playa Blanca, Puerto del Carmen and Costa Teguise will be hoping the trend continues.
