According to Michael O'Leary, the CEO of Ryanair, there are currently 108 baggage options when you go to check-in your luggage, which will be narrowed down to only 6, this could however see rise in baggage prices by 50%.
So what does this mean? When the prices revise, and you are traveling in the low season, you will pay a flat fees of £30 if you are checking in 1st/2nd bag weighing 15kgs, same as what you currently pay. However if you are traveling in the high season, 1st/2nd bag, 15kgs checked in you pay £50, with the revised prices you will pay just £30, saving you £20.
LanzaroteON’s Travel tip: Buy your baggage online when you book your flight, whether you travel in the low season or the high season, you save 50% on baggage fees this way.
Mr. O'Leary said “Families, like everybody else, are traveling with less checked bags. The purpose of the bag fee was never to penalize people. It was to incentivize people to travel with less checked bags.” But passengers traveling on longer flights, like London to the Canary Islands and few domestic flights in Spain and Italy may still have to pay higher baggage fees.
So to have a superb flying experience with any airline, carry less check in baggage, lesser the better, saves you money too!!!
