Tenerife is one of the largest, the most populated and a popular holiday destination of the seven Canary Islands. Since is the largest, there are loads of things you can do like lots of natural and theme parks and lots of places to visit in Tenerife, and we have the top 10 coolest for you:

Mount Teide: Mount Teide is a volcanic mountain in Tenerife. It also is the highest mountain in Spain, 3,718 metres high and the highest point above sea level among all the islands in the Atlantic.

Teide National Park: The Teide National Park is surrounded around Mount Teide in Tenerife. It is the third oldest national park in Spain and you can reach the top and experience the various shades of brown and the volcanic shapes in a Teide Cable Car ride. The Teide National Park is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO because of its unique and diverse flora and fauna, another World Heritage site in the Canary Islands is the Timanfaya National Park in Lanzarote.

Loro Park: Loro Park is one the finest of animal parks and is one of the best places to visit with kids in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Loro Park has a wide variety of animals which are well taken care of, don’t miss the behind the scenes tour. (Another place where you have fun things to do with kids in Lanzarote is Rancho Texas Animal Park).

Siam Park: Siam Park is a fabulous and well maintained water park in Tenerife, with gauranteed fun for the whole family, (another excellent and well established water park is Aquapark Costa Teguise in Lanzarote).

Pyramids of Güímar: The Pyramids of Güímar are six out of the nine pyramid-shaped rectangular terraced structures from the 19th century. They are unique because they are built without mortar and just lava stones for agricultural purposes. They are situated in the district of Chacona, part of the town of Güímar on the island of Tenerife.

Orotava Valley: The Orotava valley is a riot of greenery everywhere, great views and to see the real life of the locals. (Haria Valley in Lanzarote is also beautiful and also called a valley of thousand palms)

Cueva del Viento: Cueva del Viento is the largest lava tube in the Europe and the fifth largest in the world. It was created when lava flowed from Mount Pico Viejo. (Cueva de los Verdes and Jameos Del Agua are two other caves in the Canary Islands which were formed by lava which flowed from the Timanfaya mountains in Lanzarote).

Playa de las Américas: Playa de las Américas is a resort with mainly British expat community and loads of bars and restaurants. Its white sand attracts lots of tourists every year. (Alternatively you can enjoy the stunning white sandy beaches of La Graciosa)

Los Gigantes: Los Gigantes is a resort town in the west coast of Tenerife with only one hotel, but lots of apartments, it’s best attraction is the giant rock formations, 500-800 meters above sea level.

Scuba Diving and Snorkeling: Tenerife is a great place to scuba dive and snorkel to see the rich marine life, go underwater to swim alongside the turtles and experience the life underwater. (You can swim along the stingray when you scuba dive or snorkel in Lanzarote).
