When is the Strike?
The Baggage Handlers will go on strike on 18th, 20th, 22nd, 25th, 27th and 29th of October 2015 from 6am until midnight. If the problem is not solved then the strike could be indefinite from 1st November 2015.
Why the Strike?
The company, Swissport Handling Lanzarote UTE is responsible for baggage handling at Lanzarote Airport, and had disagreement with their employees (baggage handlers) on their working conditions.
What could happen?
Your flight may not be delayed, but your baggage could reach you only after the strike is over. But Airlines are well prepared for these kind of situations and will take emergency measures to resolve the problem.
Traveling on strike days?
If you are traveling on the days of the strike, then it is best to get in touch with your travel operator or airline and get a clear idea about the baggage. Make sure you are completely covered under your travel insurance. If you don't have a travel insurance, buy one here.
