Arrecife, Tías, Teguise, Tinajo and Haría have all suspended the festive and cultural programmes they had planned for those days. The Cabildo has done the same with its own activities, including events at the art, culture and tourism centres, and minutes of silence have been held at the Cabildo and Arrecife town hall.
For visitors, that means no Halloween parade in Puerto del Carmen tonight and no Theatre of Terror or Saturday parade in Tías. The chestnut and sweet wine evenings of the Noche de Finaos have been cancelled in Tías, Teguise, Tinajo and Haría, although Teguise hopes to move some of its cultural events to Sunday 1 November.
All Saints' Day masses and cemetery ceremonies will take place as usual on Sunday. Yaiza and San Bartolomé had not said whether their events in Playa Blanca and Playa Honda would be affected when this article was published, so it is best to check with the council before going. Anyone holding tickets for a privately run Halloween night should contact the organiser directly.
