After Christmas and New Years, the next most important holidays in Puerto del Carmen is the Carnival. It is a great place to see hundreds of costumes, music, dance and more that will guarantee great fun for young and old.

Excursions Lanzarote

Since this year's theme is "The Enchanted Forest", you could see some fairytale like background to the carnival, the costumes could show rustic woods, overgrown vines, flowers, animal prints, crowds with animal masks and makeup and much much more.

Programme

19th February,Thursday :
The Carnival begins at 20:30 pm with the performance by the top three Murgas (musical performance where a group of singers tell stories) in the Plaza del Varadero (located in the old town harbour, where most events are held)

20th February, Friday :
Grand Carnival Show in the Plaza del Varadero begins at 20:30 pm with performances by the Comparsas (Percussion Dance Groups) “Sur Caliente”, “Yaiceros” ,“Cumbacheros” and the Charanga (small musical band) group “Los Gruñones”. Later enjoy the Verbenas (open air dances) accompanied by the group “Los Conejeros” and foot tapping music by DJ Ángel Pérez.

21st February, Saturday :
This you must not miss!!!! the Grand Carnival Parade, which starts at 17:00 pm starting from Barcarola and finishing at the Fariones Playa Hotel, Playa Grande along the Avenida de las Playas.

Verbena Entertainment starts at 21:00 pm in the Plaza del Varadero, groove along with groups “Kimera Band” and “Banda Nueva” with DJ Barni Granados.

22nd February, Sunday :
At 11:00 am it's time your kids let their hair down and have fun at the Children’s Carnival with inflatable play, workshops and entertainment from the children’s Murgas in the Plaza del Varadero.

At Noon (12:00 pm) the last leg of the Carnival takes place with singers Pepe Benavente, Rafael Flores - “El Morocho” fame and a performance from Comparsa “Sur Caliente”.

The Puerto del Carmen Carnival 2015 will sure be a fun ride with amazing music, beautiful costumes and memorable moments!!!!! Get your bags packing now!!!!! Carnival 2015 HERE WE COME!!!!!!!
