There is yellow alert since Thursday, i.e., today, 22nd October, with rainfall of 15 liters per square meter, the weather alert will go to orange from Friday between 00.00 and 18.00, with AEMET forecast of rain of up to 30 liters per hour and square meter. The rains may be accompanied with thunderstorms.
From 18.00 pm, Friday 23rd October and until midnight the alert will drop back to yellow, with rain up to 15 liters. Due to the Tropical humid weather, there are expectations of moderate to heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms.
The Directorate General of Security and Emergency of the Canary Government has urged people to follow the advice of self-protection and to take the necessary preventive measures and recommendations for risk of flooding and rainfall. Among the preventive measures is to avoid unnecessary travel, keep doors and windows closed and to avoid parking in lower ground.
