Excursions Lanzarote

The trade winds could remain low, but winds blowing from Africa could cause temperatures to rise in south of the islands, least expected to affect low-lying areas, especially in north west of the islands.

The temperatures could likely be a little higher on Monday 11th May 2015 (Today) in the south of the island of Gran Canaria, where temperatures could rise to 34 ° C. From Tuesday 12th May 2015 the temperature could also
exceed 34 ° C in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, and possibly in some areas of Tenerife. The temperatures could rise more on Wednesday 13th May 2015, but are likely to fall on Thursday 14th May 2015.

Please read and follow the important guidelines during the High Temperature Alert situation:
- Protect yourself from the sun and heat.
- Stay in places protected from the sun as long as possible and in the coolest room in the house. During daytime lower the blinds.
- Open the windows of the house at night to cool.
- It is advisable to use some sort of air conditioning (fans, air conditioners) to cool the atmosphere.
- Sudden temperature changes occur when you enter or leave places that may affect you.
- Avoid direct sunlight on the streets. Wear a cap or a hat, light-colored clothing, sunglasses and apply sun screen lotion without fail.
- Try to walk in the shades, stay under a parasol on the beach and rest in cool places in the street or in closed spaces that are air-conditioned.
- Carry water whereever you go and drink often.
- Never leave children or elderly people inside a closed vehicle.
- Avoid going out and doing prolonged exercise, especially in the middle of the day when it is warmer. Reduce physical activity in the heat of the day.
- Take light and regular meals, drinks and foods rich in water and mineral salts, such as fruits and vegetables, which will help replenish salts lost through sweating.
- Do not drink alcohol. Avoid very hot foods and calorie foods.
- Help others. If you know elderly people living alone or sick, volunteer to visit them once a day.
- For any request or emergencies or for more information please call 012.
