The Quemao wave or the "falling santa" is dangerous and well respected, very few have command over the wave. The wave is unique because of the live volcanic reef. Surfers and Bodyboarders from across the globe come to have a taste of dangerous waves because Lanzarote waters have quality and distinctiveness. The championship also requires participants to pass an initial test to qualify for the event. Since the quemao wave is dangerous, arrangements have been made to provide an emergency device which will provide quick assistance and evacuation if a competitor needs one.
The event attracts international surfers and promises to woe them not only with the quemao wave but also Lanzarote's food, drinks and more. For this purpose there will be stalls for  Workshop of fishing craft, Workshop for manufacturing wooden surfboards, Stalls selling food and crafts, Skatepark, traditional games for children, concerts, various commercial sport brands selling their stuff and much more.
