Documentary On Canaries by National Geographic Documentary On Canaries by National Geographic

You're flipping through TV channels, you stop at the National Geographic Channel and what do you see? A documentary "Canary In The Shadow Of The Volcanoes" being aired.

Excursions Lanzarote

The documentary was directed in 2014 by Pedro Felipe, produced by Alas de cinematografía and sponsored by Museums of Tenerife and Promotur Tourism of Canaries. The script was done by Guillermo Delgado, a Biologist from Museum of Nature and Man (MNH). The documentary will be aired on the channel only in the United States.

The film showcases the island of El Hierro, its giant lizards, osprey (bird), the Sarda (a shark which inhabits the marine depths of the Atlantic Ocean). It also gives an insight into the landscape of the Teide National Park; marine fauna in the waters around the islands, and sea creatures such as whales and dolphins. Watch the semi-desert plains of Fuerteventura with its fauna and the Guirre (Canarian Egyptian Vulture). It also reflects the ancient forests of Garajonay National Park in La Gomera; El Jable in Lanzarote, where one can find the highest population of endangered species of Canarian Houbara (a huge bird), and in the northwest of the island, one can find the Eleonora's Falcons, coming from Madagascar, nearly 9,000 kilometers away, to reproduce.

If you are in the United States, do not miss this documentary and if you are outside United States, what are you waiting for? Book your flights and hotel with TravelON World to see all the wonders of the Canary Islands yourself.
