Shoppers will have to wait a little longer to see it shine. The centre usually holds its official switch-on in the middle of November, with an evening of music and characters for children, and this year's date is still to be confirmed.
The switch-on is themed differently every year. Lapland set the scene in 2023, when the tree was dressed in white and gold and a school choir from the area sang for the crowd. In 2024 the theme was the 1950s, and Barbie, Pinocchio and the Nutcracker all made an appearance.
The lights then stay on until the Three Kings in January, and the centre normally fills the weeks in between with visits from Father Christmas, children's workshops and offers in the shops and restaurants.
Biosfera Plaza has been open since 2002 and is home to around 45 shops, cafés and restaurants, with free parking for around 350 cars and an open air cinema on the roof. You can find more places to shop in our shops and services directory.
