The British winter is something most want to miss, especially around Christmas and New Year. Lanzarote is the place for extreme fun and heavenly sun!!!!, but that doesn’t mean you will miss out on the Christmas and New Year celebrations, since Lanzarote too goes all out to enjoy these special events, you can bargain for more than the sun and the beaches.

Excursions Lanzarote

If you arrive just before Christmas, then do not miss the Santa Parade on 23rd December 2014, Tuesday held along the Avenida de Las Playas starting from the junction with Calle Italia at 17:00 pm. This is the best way to feel at home and also make some local friends, so dress up and join in!
Christmas Eve is special too with the Santa Dive on 24th December, 2015, Santa’s in their traditional costumes will dive in for a fun filled procession. It’s more fun if you become a diver in fancy dress and join the procession!!!! really nice for those FB pics!!!
Then comes New Year’s Eve, with a possible free firework display in La Villa de Teguise at midnight and at 1am in Puerto del Carmen, this program is still to be confirmed, but like every year this could be a regular feature.
Before heading out home, grab some goody bags at Rastro Christmas Market on 2nd – 4th January, 2015. This is a popular Christmas market in the Plaza of Haría. There are stalls held by 16-35 year olds, selling good quality second hand goods crafts. If you have kids then let them get entertained with games and circus performers.
However, if you are around Las Cucharas, you can alternatively go to the 4th edition of the Christmas Fair on 2nd – 4th January 2015, there will be a range of artisan food stalls to keep you busy.
The Kings Processions on 5th January is not to missed, a variety of Cabalgata de Reyes or Three Kings on camels take part in processions around the island.
The best part is Lanzarote has a wonderful weather during this time and if not out for the celebrations you can definitely spend your days and nights relaxing on it’s beautiful beaches or enjoy diving into serene waters.

So go ahead book your tickets, you can still get a cheap holiday!!! and hotels for some fantastic and memorable holidays ever in the sunny Lanzarote!!!!
