Most of the island sweltered in the thirties. Haría reached 34.9 degrees in the early afternoon and the airport 35.1 degrees at 2pm. Down in the southern resorts, Playa Blanca climbed to 32 degrees and Arrecife to 31.2.
The coast and the far north stayed a little cooler. La Graciosa topped out at 29.4 degrees and Tinajo at 28.9, the lowest maximums recorded on the island that day.
AEMET has had a yellow warning for high temperatures in force since last week, as the heatwave gripping Lanzarote and the rest of the Canaries continues.
