Throughout the week the mayor and his group of government personnel will hold a series of briefings for all residents to explain the works in progress and planning and model of the new General Plan of Tias for all residents, where residents can make proposals and arguments.
Puerto del Carmen, the tourist area which had emerged 50 years ago from a small fishing shelter in La Tiñosa, prepares for the biggest urban modernization that has seen in recent decades.
Tias City Council had launched last January a series of works for the improvement and renovation of public spaces within Puerto del Carmen. La Tiñosa area will now see new development works in 2015, where the work will begin later this April. A large section of the street Reina Sofia recorded a large urban transformation.
The Municipal Plan Works have estimated the funding to nearly 15 million euros. In the plan the Street Reina Sofia will see modernization, there is a sculpture paying tribute to the sailors of the island, on the new roundabout, built next to the public school Concepción Rodríguez Artiles, in Puerto del Carmen. A modern playground and green areas alongside the roundabout too.
In the plan there will also be global transformation of the NASA street and in a few days work will start on Street Pedro Barba.
So there's more for residents and tourists to look forward to.
