In-Flight Calls To Be Allowed Or Not? In-Flight Calls To Be Allowed Or Not?

“Hi, I’m on the plane!!!!”, in-flight calls allowed or not?

Excursions Lanzarote

There have been many debates on whether in-flight calls must be allowed or not. But there are quite a few international airlines who allow you to use your smartphone to make calls and send sms in the air, like you do on the ground. You can also use their Wifi facility to access the internet, especially your social media profiles and emails.

You hear this line from the cabin crew “Please switch of your mobile phones or put it on a flight mode”, we’ll tell you the real reason:

- Keeping your phone on, at takeoff and landing can disrupt radio in the cockpit, imagine all 30-50 people keeping their mobiles on !!!! since a phone’s radio emissions can be very strong, up to 8W.

- It is common courtesy to your fellow passengers when you switch your phone off or on flight mode, they don’t want you chatting on it throughout the journey!!!!

- It definitely does not disrupt the electrical system of the flight, because of the new technological advancements in place.

If your flight is above 10000 feet, then you are in no way going to catch the phone signal, so instead of draining the battery, just switch your mobile, sit , relax and enjoy the flight.

So next time you are on a flight around the world, keep your mobiles switched off or use it on flight mode.
