This flower is native to the island of Lanzarote, but it very rare. The flower is also popularly known as Viborina of Lanzarote.
It is rare and special to see these flowers because they belong to the Annual Herbaceous plant species called Echiums. Echium is a name derived from the Greek language, where Echium means a snake's head, which the flower's seeds slightly resemble.
Echium's are special because their leaves and stem die down to the soil level at the end of the growing season or when they have flowered and fruited. They do not have a solid stem above the ground and hence they grow again from a seed.
Well we are sure you will be out and about looking for the Viborina of Lanzarote flower fields!!! Enjoy and make the most of them while they are here and blooming !!!!
