After last year's havoc by weather, the plans for this year's race was revised and in the first leg of the race, the sailors will start at the Bay of Douarnenez in France on September 19th 2015 and the first minis could be reaching Marina Lanzarote, Arrecife, Canary Islands, by 27th September 2015.
The best part is all the sailors will be having a stopover in Lanzarote for a whole month, so this will be your chance to meet the sailors and interact with them, 'every sailor has a different story'. There will be the 'Sponsor A Mini campaign', where local businesses support the participants.
The second leg of the race will start on 31st October 2015 from Marina Lanzarote to further the sailor's journey across the Atlantic for around 3 long weeks to end Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe).
From France to the Caribbean, the 4120 nautical mile race is one of the longest races for small yachts and indeed very challenging, since there are many challenges at the sea like rough waters, uncertain weather, solitary sailing, but all these are overcome by supportive fellow sailors, support of volunteers and family and friends.
