You must be waiting to get in your very light weighing bikini you just bought before you boarded the flight to Lanzarote, screaming out to you "WEAR ME PLEASE"!!!! and your kids are even more excited about splashing the sand when they play volleyball or Frisbee at the beach and your hubby must be waiting for the right spot to glug down the beer crate .....
If you are here with your friends then beach volleyball and beer crates are definitely on the list but they must be also waiting to bang out some really loud beach party music.......hmmmm we say just keep in mind the very simple yet important beach etiquette before you do anything above.
Beach Wear or Beach Beware: "Oh Why is he staring at me?" is the most common complaint women have when they go on the beach.... we say unless you possess a supermodel figure please do not try wearing very revealing beach wear or please do not compliant if you get strange stares....same goes for men, please !!!!!
Beach Party or Beach Spoiler: You must be a party animal and would take the chance when it comes to partying at the beach.....but please if you really love partying, then do it at the Splash Party Boat and spare the other beach goers.....no one wants to hear loud music or any music at all, don't forget to take your headphones along if you cannot miss your favorite music at the beach.
Beach Stroll or Beach Splash: I am sure you love walking or running on the beach .... remember Pierce Brosnan in The Thomas Crown Affair!!! but please do it close to the water, in the wet sands, rather than flipping sand right onto someone who is lazing in the sun.....please do remove your flipflops while walking on the beach and a big NO for walking or stamping on someones towel....go bare foot, it feels very earthly!!!
Listen to warnings : We know you love the waters and are waiting to dive in .... but please bear in mind that lifeguards or warning boards are there for you to warn from strong currents, jellyfish and any other danger......don't take them for granted, keeping your eyes and ears open is very important for any warnings....be vigilant and be a good beach goer and not a nuisance.
Beach Sports or Spoil Sport: Kids love the idea of beach sports....and adults love it too, why not pick a spot for sports away from crowded places, rather than throwing the ball over someone's head or hitting them with the ball (unintentionally) when they were about to have a quiet beach nap!!! Please enjoy your game but away from the crowd.....
Beach Bin or Beach Litter : Almost all beaches have Dust Bins so please USE THEM, rather than throwing your litter on the beach or the water....."Stay Clean and Save your Environment" is what LanzaroteON says. If you don't find a Bin close to you, always keep a spare plastic/paper bag to keep your litter in it and throw it in a bin when you get a chance.......
PDA or Public Display of Affection: You are on your long awaited honeymoon or a weekend getaway and can't keep your hands off each other.....but please when you are on the beach stick to acceptable PDA's like hugging, kissing, holding hands and sitting together.....no groping in the sand or water ...... there are families and other couples who do not want to see your very private loving gestures out in the public !!!!!!
Smoking or No Smoking: No offense, but if you smoke please do it in the parking lot before you come on the beach.... no one likes cigarette smoke when they are relaxing and want some really fresh and natural air......open spaces carry smoke more quickly.....also please throw the cigarette butt in a dustbin after you put it off .... you don't want the bin on fire!!! and do not throw it in the sand or water, it is really not good for the marine life .....
Good Tan or Lobster Skin: We know that you want to get that really beautiful holiday tan.... but please also note that lathering yourself with a good sun tan lotion is equally important before you get strange stares just because you now have a Lobster skin.... which we must tell everyone is not appealing at all....so please do not shy away from applying a good coat of sun tan!!!
Jerk or Civilized: People come on the beach to have a refreshing experience and love their personal space.....so choose a space to sit at least 15 feet away from others who are already relaxing.
Bathroom Hygiene: Please advice your kids about using the bathroom before going in the water.....please ask them not to pee in the water, it is not at all hygienic for them and others in the water.......this also applies to adults!!!!!
These simple yet important guidelines will not only keep you from angry stares or unpleasant comments, but will help you make new friends and have limitless enjoyment. Bottom line is "Be considerate".
