La Corona is at a height of 609m and is a young and the biggest and most spectacular volcanic cones in North Lanzarote. The volcano is responsible for the scenic landscape and lava forms of Malpais de la Corona.
The flora and fauna of the area is protected and is known as Monumento Natural del Malpaís de La Corona. A volcanic tunnel underneath stretches 6 kms from the cone of Volcan de La Corona to the sea called the Tunel de la Atlantida (The Atlantida Tunnel).
The pipe boasts of popular tourist sights like Cueva de los Verdes and Jameos del Agua.
It is a favourite for hikers and also boasts of breathtaking views of the area, with a lot of flora and fauna to explore.
