Unique art gallery by Cesar Manrique
The César Manrique Foundation, situated in Taro de Tahiche is a non profit private institution and attracts more than 300,000 visitors a year. It is in the studio home of Lanzarote's most famous artist and doubles as a Cesar Manrique art gallery by the artist and the ones acquired by him. It was built in 1968.
The lower level of the Cesar Manrique house has been very cleverly designed to make unusual and exemplary living space using the natural formation of five volcanic bubbles.
The central volcanic bubble has a large relaxation area with a swimming pool, dining room, oven and barbecue.
The upper level and the outside of the house takes inspiration from Lanzarote's traditional architecture.
