In 1621 the parish church was preserved and renovated number of times since it had poor construction of stone and mud. But on February 22, 1956, a wind storm cracked a portion of its roof and was later reconstructed in the years 1962 to 1966 with a new building, but could not meet the desired acoustic conditions.
The local art and crafts of Haria has survived over the years, thanks to the patience of craftsmen who did not want to abandon such a beautiful art. The history of the town and it's craft work has been very successfully maintained by the efforts and tenacity of its many artisans over time. It is now a genuine and undisputed cultural heritage that distinguishes this beautiful town in the north of the island.
On Saturday mornings different local artisans gather in the village square of Haria to sell all kinds of local products from palm trees.
