The pilgrimage is one of the main events of the festival, celebrated for years it is one of the popular festivals of the Canary Islands and one of the most fervent pilgrimages.
In April 1736, the people of Lanzarote prayed to "Our Lady of Sorrows" to stop the layer of lava that was going to destroy the villages of Mancha Blanca and Tinajo. The presence of the saint was enough and miraculously the lava receded at the feet of Our Lady. And so "Our Lady of Sorrows" also earned the nickname Lady of Volcanoes.

The Farmers Market and Artisan Tinajo opened on Sunday July 30, 2006.
The U-shaped market is made up of nine stone stalls, with 9 stalls for agricultural products, 2 livestock stalls, 2 fish product stalls and 2 pastry stalls.

The Lanzarote WineRun is more than a half marathon, combining sports, hiking and promotion of gastronomy and local wines. It started as a sports competition in 2009 and since then has evolved into an event that is leading helped sustain tourism, in the backdrop of stunning nature beauty and spectacular landscape.
