Monumento Natural de la Cueva de los Naturalistas is a protected area due to its volcanic caves and draws unique geomorphological and scientific interest. It has galleries of great beauty and is one of the most important caves of the archipelago.

This lava tube is located in a large lava lake formed by the Tizalaya volcano. The large cavity has innumerable branches, forming galleries of great beauty and garners scientific interest. It can be difficult to access due to the rocky floor.
Inside you can see numerous structures like lava fronts, side terraces and curious formations estafilitos (solidified lava drops in clusters of more than 5 cm in length) created by solidified lava.
The volcanic tubes are very clevery used for vineyard plantations, in the surrounding cracks of lava lakes. These tubes represent one of the most spectacular scenery of Lanzarote.
The is no flaura and fauna inside the cave. Inside one can see lava fields surrounded by lichen communities (fungus). There are extensive and good representations of bejeques or Aeonium too.
