El Mirador del Rio, is a beautiful architectural creation by Cesar Manrique, a famous artist from Lanzarote, Canary Island in 1974. It is located on top of the Risco de Famara 474 meters high. "El Rio", the river is a narrow sea strip that separates the Island from the islets, after which the viewpoint is named. El Mirador del Rio provides breathtaking views of the Chinijo Archipelago.
Cultural Information: In ancient days this site was used as a lookout point from attacks by pirates.
Attractions: The building provides spectacular panoramic views from various spots. The various Islands of the Archipelago Chinijo National Park, namely the islands of La Graciosa, Montana Clara, Roque del Oeste and Alegranza can be viewed.
