Relax at the El Charco and enjoy delicacies at some popular restaurants
Charco de San Gines is a man-made lagoon used by fishermen in Arrecife.
El Charco means 'the puddle'. The scenic area was remodelled by Canarian architect Cesar Manrique and is often referred to as the 'Venice of the Atlantic'.
There is a children's playground on the side of El Charco. There are a lot of palm trees and small bridges along the promenade. At the entrance is a very popular restaurant Casa Ginory, an Arrecife restaurant, which has delicacies like fresh fish platters, calamaris etc. There are other famous restaurants like Leito de Proa and Bar La Ribera.
Do not miss Saturdays where there is a busy market along the promenade with lots of Canarian delicacies and crafts.
